CORE Services – Day to Day support

The services we offer are useful to any size or type of business and are at no cost to you or your business. Take advantage of:

  • 1-on-1 counselling
    • Book a convenient time at our main or satellite office to meet with a business counsellor who has an unbiased perspective and a wealth of experience. The floor is open to discuss:
      • business start-ups or expansion questions
      • marketing strategies
      • financial concerns
      • business plan writing
      • ideas and concepts
      • creating a new product or service
  • Our workshops and events
    • Check the calendar for upcoming workshops and events. We try to cater the workshops to specific content that will help you develop your skills as a business owner.
  • Getting the right resource
    • The Small Business Centre has been at this a long time. If you are not sure where to look for a certain resource, or you don’t know who you should connect with to get the job done, we have a long list of people you need to speak with.

 

The 2023 Starter Company Plus grant is open as of May 29, 2023

Applications will be accepted until June 26, 2023 (unless otherwise posted here)

Applications will be received in a first come, first served basis until all funds are allocated.

Any businesses that is starting out or expanding in any capacity is eligible to apply for this grant. The business must be registered in the areas of Hastings County, Prince Edward County, Lennox & Addington County, Quinte West or Belleville.

In order to successfully complete your application you must submit all four (4) documents below, signed and submitted by the deadline of June 26, 2023.

Summer Company grant 2023 – NOW CLOSED

The Summer Company grant is now accepting applications. Below you will find seven documents that need to be submitted as part of your application and if you are missing one, your application will be considered incomplete. Some of them require you to put thought and information to paper. Some of them simply require you to read the information and sign the page indicating you have read and understood the details. If at any time you have any questions please contact Luc Fournier, Program Coordinator for further insight on how to complete your application in full.

The Summer Company grant for 2023 will have 4 grants available this year. This is a competitive grant and applicaitons will remain open for a minimum of three weeks closing May 12, 2023 only to be extended if we do not receive enough successful candidates. NOTE: In order to complete your application, all documents listed below must be read, signed, and submitted.

These seven documents are all part of the application:

  1. Program Guidelines and Eligibility
  2. Program Completion Requirements
  3. Contact Information and Business Brief
  4. Release and Consent
  5. Confirmation of Returning to School
  6. Consent for Media Coverage
  7. Start up costs and Financial Projections

Any student returning to school ages 15 to 17 must submit the application with a guarantor’s signature assisting in the process.

Please note, any and all students interested in starting a summer company has full access to the Small Business Centre support resources at no cost even if you are not selected for the grant. We encourage you to reach out for one-on-one counseling appointments, additional resources, and guidance to make your summer company a success.
